The Driftless valley was quiet, the fertile spring creek was in pristine quality, the evening hatch was prolific, and the wild trout were feasting on the buffet presented to them. Throughout numerous runs and pools, the brown trout were steadily rising to the typical June prolific Driftless evening hatch. Bats were seen swooping to feast on the Driftless menu as well. A small dry fly trailed by an even smaller dropper emerger were the flies of choice; this rewarded the angler many times over. It was an absolutely beautiful evening emersed within the quietude and pastorally scenic Drifltess valley.
